Group
Instruction
‑ for
beginners
There is no greater advantage than setting off in the right
direction
‑ whatever the
destination may be. Jefferson
at OSU has found that,
for most beginners, group instruction (six to twelve
students) under the guidance of an advanced instructor is
the best way to begin the musical journey. Students learn
from each other as well as the teacher. Classes begin in
the Fall Quarter and continue for the year unless noted
otherwise. Group classes are available for strings, piano,
flute, and guitar; adult piano, guitar, and voice.
Musicianship topics are integrated into the classes and
students will generally move to private lessons after two
years in the group. It is extremely important to have an
adequate and properly sized instrument, so please confer
with the instructor in order to make the best possible
choice.
