Dalcroze Eurhythmics

Dalcroze Eurhythmics is based on the philosophy of Swiss composer and educator, Emile Jacques Dalcroze (1865–1950). It is the integration of body movement with the basic elements of music: rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre, and form. As students incorporate music internally, they also become more proficient and expressive in all of their music making activities. Dalcroze Eurhythmics challenges the student to develop concentration, physical coordination, rhythmic ability, and expressive response to music. This is accomplished through listening, improvisation, and movement experiences.
